Leighton Art Centre Annual Christmas in the country sale

posted November 5, 2020 Filed Under: Art Show - Art Event, Art Shows, Events, News

I am excited to be part of the Annual Christmas in the Country Art Sale at The Leighton Art Centre.

The painting “Cuddle me Closer” is a reminder to me of how important the viewer is to the artwork and art community. The Leighton Art Centre has always been one of my favourite places to explore and view art. It is such a wothwhile, pretty country drive with a welcoming destination for art and nature lovers.

Sale Opens Nov 5 – Dec 20/20. For more information or
view show online from the safety and convenience of your home…Click here.

Enjoy and have a wonderful visit. Thank you for supporting the arts and holding the very important role of the observer.

SPIRIT OF LAKE O’HARA- EXHIBITION AND SALE

I have a huge appreciation for the amazing country I live in and this body of work is a result of two trips where I experienced magical Lake O’Hara in the Yoho National Park in British Columbia, Canada.

My first trip to the Lake O’Hara Lodge where so many artists I admire have been was in 2018. The views of mountains were hazy due to smoke of all the forest fires. My artwork from this trip reflects the beauty of the green gold moss and brilliant yellow foliage at my feet. I spent hours sketching from a rock at the edge of the lake, noticing a floating feather, distant sounds of the Seven Veils Waterfall, red canoes and the visitors taking in the view.

When I returned in 2019, the skies were clear and I could see the crisp expansive Rocky Mountain vistas. I stayed in the Elizabeth Parker Hut, hiked the trails and saw the brilliant blue of Lake McArthur for the first time through my own eyes. This year, I am excited to share with you the contrast of these trip experiences through my expression of art.

ART CLASS update FALL 2020

posted August 26, 2020 Filed Under: Art Classes, News

CLASSES ARE NOW FULL FOR FALL 2020 (email me to be put on waitlist)

I hope this message finds your safe, well and motivated to create. It is hard to believe that 5 months has passed…I have greatly missed seeing my students and the creative art community.
I was happy and very thankful to run a successful and safe summer camp in July.

It is my hope that starting the week of Sept 29-Dec 1,2020 my art classes will be able to resume. If you are interested in classes, please check out my class schedule. Due to ongoing changes in COVID-19 relaunch strategies, I will be watching and implementing measures to resume classes safely according to Alberta.ca guidance outlines. If things change in over the next month, classes do not fill, students do not feel safe, full refunds will be given.

Feel free to email me with any questions or comments.

Michelle
